Comprised of four hotels across England we were appointed following Swire’s decision to upgrade their finance systems and to close down their central office finance function. Their pre-existing finance software was largely manual and desktop based and so presented a number of inefficiencies both in terms of operation and financial output.
We promptly converted their historical records and Ecovis Online soon became the focal point of their financial system, which we had up and running alongside their banking and property management software. We established remote access for finance staff at each of the hotel locations whom we helped with a formalised training schedule and ongoing ad-hoc support.
The introduction of OCR technology greatly enhanced the efficiency of data processing and given their numerous supplier relationships the automated supplier payment and remittance function was also a great success, leading to faster, more reliable information being available for all stakeholders.
As well as cost savings and operational efficiencies the overseas owners now had near real time visibility on the numbers, something that revolutionised their involvement and understanding of the underlying operations of the business.
